WOMEN HYGIENE, SEX AND MEN

I came across this fantastic article some days ago, very educative indeed. If you think any point was left out, please leave a comment. Don't just read it, share and help someone with it. Enjoy!

THIS IS FOR THE LADIES BUT if you love ur wife/girlfriend/sister/mother/any female, then you need to read it!!

Our relationships are suffering and nobody wants to go into the main problems; we are all chasing shadows tagging it all, “spiritual”.

Like I always tell people, every man is a fan of the vagina and every woman is a fan of the penis. The only thing that determines how strong a fan your husband will be is your ability to make his time in there a memorable one. Please do your best to get that man to enjoy sex with you.
It has nothing to do with age or class; it has everything to do with knowledge of hygiene and body care. How many women can boast of a clean southern hemisphere that is free from foul odour and itching? Girl, what does your man see and perceive when you are alone with him?

A lot of relationships have broken up because of this foul odour emanating from the vaginal area (guys won’t let their pastor and priest know that this is the problem). A good number of men have lost interest in sex with their wives because of the inability of the woman to take proper care of this zone.

Before I go on, I want you to stand in front of your mirror and do a little check-up. What does your vaginal area look like? Is it a forest with several animals living in it, a tiled floor, or a well trimmed garden? Okay, let me bring it down to your level; what is the condition of the hairs down there? Always best to keep it very low.

In this article, I am going to let you know those little things you do ignorantly thereby destroying your vaginal area.

LACK OF EXERCISE
Are you one of those who believe exercise is just for weight loss? You are wrong. Exercise goes a long way to affect your sex life. A man wants to have his woman fit and flexible in bed. The best exercise to improve sex is the KEGEL, which basically strengthens your PC muscles which holds up your vagina, uterus, anus, bladder and urethra. The stronger the muscles are, the more intense your orgasms will be. Try to stop urine flow when you pee. Hold the squeeze for five seconds, then release. You can also squeeze your pelvic area while cooking in the kitchen or right there in your office.

WRONG UNDERWEAR
That particular underwear looks nice but doesn’t mean it is good for you. Always go for cotton under wears. Avoid panties made from synthetic materials as they inhibit the circulation of air around the vaginal area, creating the damp, warm condition ideal for bacterial growth. Cotton is the best fabric to wear and if you enjoy wearing silky under wear save it for occasional rather than everyday use. In addition to this, avoid constant wearing of tight trousers, panty hose and girdles.

POOR HYGIENE
I get goose pimples whenever I hear women talk about going to bed sometimes without having their bath. Some celebrities have also said it on television. Are deodorants and perfumes supposed to take the place of a good bath in a woman’s life? How can a woman sleep without a night bath? Some even sleep with their bras and panties. Girl, it is not healthy. Smelling good outside doesn’t mean you are clean inside. Always keep your genital area clean and dry.

DOUCHING
Please avoid those douching products in the market. They do you more harm than good. They are one of the major causes of vaginal itching. Your vagina doesn’t require cleansing other than normal bathing. Repetitive douching affects the normal organisms in the vagina and can actually increase the risk of vaginal infection.

SCENTED AND HARSH SOAP
Don’t use scented or harsh soap such as those with deodorant and anti-bacterial components. There are different ranges of feminine wash in the market. Just get into your local drugstores and ask for feminine wash like Sebamed, Femfresh, Summer’s Eve, and Beauty Formula. These are affordable. I don’t know what you feel about the popular Lactacid in the market; but I can tell you it is harsh for your vagina.
Also avoid scented tampons and sanitary pads. Avoid those body and feminine sprays; they will only lead to irritation. Coloured toilet paper and bubble baths should also be avoided. Wipe from front to back after using the toilet. This stops the spreading of faecal bacteria to your vagina.

INDECENCY
Girl, you keep jumping from one man to the other for whatever reason. I want to let you know that your freelance nature could lead to your trouble. The introduction of sperm into the vagina which has different PH (acid/alkaline) balance to that in the vagina can lead to vaginal odour. Why go through life depending on antibiotics and clotrimazole cream? They will in no time weaken the immune system. You may escape it now but the result of reckless lifestyle might spring up at old age.

Endeavour to have a glass of natural yoghurt whenever your vaginal is itching. Having garlic as part of your diet is also recommended. Avoid too much spicy and refined foods. Also avoid excessive washing of the vaginal area as that can only make it worse.

KILLER DISEASE! 19 MILLION NIGERIANS HAVE HEPATITIS DISEASE!

As Nigeria joined the world to mark this year’s World Hepatitis Day today (Saturday July 28, 2012), experts have said that hepatitis B alone affects about 19 million Nigerians.

The experts, who made the revelation in Lagos on Friday 27 July 2012 during a symposium on Hepatitis B organized by the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in collaboration with the Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of Nigeria (SGHIN) called for collaboration to raise awareness of the disease, which they said is more infectious and common than the Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection/ Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS).

NIMR Director-General, Prof. Innocent Ujah, said although the disease is deadly, it is largely unknown by Nigerians. He put the global rate of Hepatitis B and C at about 490 million, adding that HIV and the disease “area two enemies” that should  not be allowed to mix.

There are five hepatitis viruses defined by types- A, B, C, D and E. Types B and C are of significant concern since a high proportion of people infected with these viruses may not experience symptoms at the early stage of the disease, and only become aware of their infection when they are chronically ill.

According to WHO, types B and C could lead to chronic disease in hundreds of millions of people and, together, are the most common causes of liver cirrhosis and cancer.

Common modes of transmission of these viruses include receipt of contaminated blood or blood products, invasive medical procedures using contaminated equipment and for Hepatitis B, transmission from mother to baby at birth, from family member to child, and also by sexual contact. Also infected children sleeping next to each other, sharing of razor blades, being tattooed with unsterilized equipment are responsible for the transmission of the ailment.

PLEASE GO CHECK YOUR STATUS. THERE IS A VACCINE FOR THIS DISEASE. GO TAKE YOURS.

IS MUSIC STILL THE FOOD OF LOVE?

IS MUSIC STILL THE FOOD OF LOVE?
What are artistes singing nowadays? We don’t listen to the words anymore because they are meaningless. Songs sell because of the beats; that is why producers are getting more popular than the musicians and are also mentioned in songs.

I used to be a fan of D’Banj but I have always categorized some of his songs as FANTASTIC CRAP. If you think good PACKAGING doesn’t sell a product then you have not heard of D’ Banj. I say FANTASTIC because of the melodious beat; makes me tap my feet and move my body, very danceable and good for exercise; it is dancehall. CRAP because the lyrics don’t make any sense. They all sing the same thing: sex, money, girls, alcohol etc… We have so many up and coming artistes in Nigeria but they are majorly crap.

There is a new artiste on the block, May D, he sang “Soundtrack”; if I say I don’t like the song then am in denial. It is also in my FANTASTIC CRAP category. Was glad it was banned, can’t imagine kids singing the song in public. Though DJs will play the song at kids’ parties, and sharp kids end up singing it.

There can’t be song books because there is no reasonable lyric to publish. I doubt if these musicians even write their songs in the first place or they just freestyle on tape or any recording device, if it sounds good, they edit to suit the market. “If you father is a rich man”, how does it improve our economy or add value to our lives?

I was with some friends some weeks back and we were trying to figure out the lyrics to Rayce’s “ROLL” and we all couldn’t after repeating the song a couple of times. They come up with unique yet undefined slangs in their songs. If they give meanings to their slangs and it will be heard more often; if it sounds pleasant though.

Artistes/musicians/singers don’t know what to call you guys; that a song is dancehall or rhythm and blues doesn’t mean it has to be CRAP. Most of you mention the Legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, as your mentor but just a very few of you emulate him lyrics wise though. Am so glad not all Nigerian musicians sing Fantastic Crap. Thank goodness for the likes of Asa, Tuface, Sound Sultan, and a very few others.

FLEXIBLE HAIR ROLLER, NOT A FASHION ACCESSORY

SERIOUSLY ladies, FLEXIBLE ROLLER IS NOT A FASHION ACCESSORY!

It’s being around for decades but not until recently did China do us a favour by shipping them down here in bulk. These China rollers (most common) are not supposed to be expensive but due to high demand they are. I guess some ladies think it’s some form of “sophistication” to have it that is why they display it in public. Forget the colours; it is inappropriate to wear in public.

The simple use of these rollers is to create or maintain specific hair curls. I was in the bank some days ago and a lady came in with d rollers in her hair. I have seen ladies on okadas (motorcycles) wearing it especially in Yaba while some others in their cars in public places. It is funny that these same ladies/women will not wear plastic rollers in public because they think it’s embarrassing. Here’s news, ROLLERS ARE ROLLERS! Plastic or fiber, it serves the same purpose.

True it is a ‘fashion must have’ and good quick remedy for curls, but don’t allow it condescend you. You are NOT to be seen publicly with it.
For your information, it is NOT sexy!

FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK!

WOW!! I miss blogging. I am back now! Yipee!! Feels good to be back.

It’s a new week and will definitely be beautiful.

It’s not just about going to church or mosque or any religious house that makes one HOLY, but meditating and practicing what is preached and read in the HOLY BOOK. It is not just paying your tithe or giving offerings or religious donations that makes you a better person but giving if you have to anyone, help and never expect anything in return, and do it cheerfully. And helping is not just financially, it could be physical and in other ways, time is precious so give some of yours. It is a popular sermon that is not really practiced. The beggar you see today might be your angel tomorrow.

Make each day count in your life, live it like it’s the last day. Spoil yourself with whatever you want and can afford and don’t wait for anyone to do it for you. No one will ever question how you spend your income unlike the money you are given which you most times have to account for.

If you are of the habit of not picking phone calls or not returning phone calls, please do something about it. It is becoming a norm in our society to deliberately not pick phone calls. But here’s news; IT IS SO NOT COOL!

I attach so much importance to family. Some friends end up being family. It is really important to keep good relationship with them. They can be annoying and be the last set of people you want to see but they can also be the sweetest and best in most situations. Be at peace with them and try to build a good relationship with them. If you haven’t heard from them in a while, call them. Call as often as possible, just to check on them, show them love, you never can tell the effect of your phone call in their lives.

Lastly, BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT IN YOUR ECONOMY! Don’t wait on anyone for that. Don’t always expect change from people. With ALMIGHTY GOD on our side, we will get there. To all my Muslim brothers and sisters, may ALMIGHTY ALLAH strengthen you all this period. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Have a beautiful week!

ONE LIFE TO LIVE!

PRIVATE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITIES: FAITH IN DECEPTION?

I also went to this University and i am glad this was written. I always said i will write about my experience but never did, now we know why private universities are regarded as GLORIFIED SECONDARY SCHOOLS. Definitely all schools have issues but it is good to discuss them. Only hypocrites are against this article, i stand by the truth and i confirmed the authenticity of this story before publishing. Please leave a comment. Thank you.

I don’t know how to give this a more befitting title. There are absolutely no words to describe the feeling of utter regret, contempt, repulsion and anger I feel towards Redeemers University – where sadly I find myself pursuing a B.Sc. Regret that I came to the school, repulsion at how it is being run by people who are supposed to be men of God first and foremost, contempt because I feel the school is a worthless piece of human waste and anger because the powers that be, are not interested in moving the school forward and making things better for not just the students but the staff in general. Instead they are interested in mundane things such as: banning all phones, especially BlackBerries and  camera phones in general; the facial hair on young men – whether cleanly cut or rough – being completely shaven; attendance for church services that are so drab and boring the devils minions would forget their task of causing chaos and confusion and fall asleep instead; and also bullying students which is the favorite past time of the Student Affairs Officer, the Assistant Chaplain & the Chief Security Officer.

This list is endless. But the ultimate mission of the Chaplaincy of Redeemers University, is to make life unbearable and a living hell for students in general. I say the Chaplaincy because obviously they have taken full control of the school ever since the departure of the first Vice Chancellor, Professor Tomori, who kept a firm barrier between school work and church activities. Since his departure at the end of the 2010/2011 session, the university has undergone a series of changes, that are more or less useless in my opinion.

For example, the introduction of a christian course that was made compulsory for all departments including the management & natural science departments. You might ask what is wrong with that. My reply is why introduce such a course, when students have loads of assignments to submit nearly every other day or have their books to study all through the night? This course called ‘Study to show (STS)’ is aimed at drawing students closer to God according to the Chaplaincy. In the eyes of the students, it is another way of punishing us, for what crime, we are yet to find out. Assignments include submitting summaries of at least 10-20 chapters of the bible before the next class or summaries of whole books sometimes. Tell me how do you expect your ward who was sent to school, (to get a degree mind you, not in Theology) to pay full attention to his/her school work when he/she has the last STS assignment lurking at the back of his/her mind?

Did I mention the new Vice Chancellor is a complete clown and or buffoon? His command of the English language alone is appalling to say the least. If he wasn’t from the Yoruba tribe, you would think he was related to Dame Patience Jonathan. His activities include rolling on the floor in church, composing new hymns every Sunday and any other irrelevant thing you can imagine possible (including giving a lecture on etiquette and in his words to ladies, “Do not apply makeup, it ruins your face. It is not godly. It attracts the devil”. He said this on May 9. Okay, maybe he didn’t use those exact words, but he did say it was wrong for women or girls to use makeup. How backward is this guy, I hear you ask. Anyway, that is the least of problems with the school – which is trying ever so hard to imitate Covenant University and if possible surpass the glorified secondary school as it is usually called. That power to control young people from diverse homes and backgrounds, some oozing wealth, others reeking of abject poverty.

I hear you ask, how someone reeking of abject poverty is able to afford the school fees which presently is in the bracket of N400,000 to N650,000 – as from next session the least anyone will pay is going to be between N650,000 and N850,000? Honestly I have no idea. But what shocks me is that this so called university (RUN) calls on students to donate to the school fees of the less fortunate students who can’t afford the high fees of a school their parents probably donated their last twenty naira to, in hopes that they would be blessed in return. I scoff at that thought. Blessed indeed. Life isn’t fair. Do I need to mention that if The Redeemed Church requests fifty naira from their zillions of branches around Lagos or the west alone that they would generate millions of naira to not just pay these kids school fees but to give them cash to help with their needs at home?

Let’s move. Now, one would think that this university with all their ‘gra gra’ would have facilities in abundance. I laugh. Ask the computer science students how many programs they know how to use, from Pascal, C to C++, you name it. Better yet set a test for them. I guarantee you no one will type a code bereft of errors. Infact, ask them how many practicals they’ve had on each of the programs they’ve treated from 100 level to 400 level or find out how many of the computer systems in the software lab are actually working.

Sigh.

The physics lab? Let’s not go there. The laboratories in many secondary schools boast of more facilities. I hear they have good facilities in their chemistry lab because of the presence of a certain Dr.Emerole, who is head of the department. Did I hear you ask “And they pay such a high amount as school fees?!” The absolute shocker is that most of the courses in this school are not accredited by the NUC.

As a matter of fact, in the mathematics department between March and April, special meetings were held by the Head of the Department with the Vice Chancellors knowledge. It was in anticipation of the visit from NUC officials to the school and he specifically encouraged and asked the students to LIE on behalf of the university on matters involving how their classes are being held, if they were having their practicals and so on if any NUC official accosted them and interrogated them. He is probably between 55 & 65years old.

Have I mentioned that during Prof.Tomori’s tenure, the General Overseer’s wife would occasionally submit some names of jambites who were special and must be granted admission after the entrance exams?  According to the students that swear they were told this in confidence by the man himself, he tore up such lists and as a result the students were punished by the missions who live in the camp by cutting off their light and water supply. RUN has no wireless internet, despite the millions of naira that’s been pumped into securing one for the university. The story is that three vendors or companies were told to present their budgets and test their facilities in the school. Of the three only one was effective around the school up to the hostel area, but it wasn’t chosen. The one that was chosen had a link with the former registrar who was disgraced out of office before the start of the present 2011-2012 session for stealing school funds running into more than N12millionin conjunction with the Chief Security Officer who still has his job.

Who knows why he still has his job? Maybe he knows the secrets of some people up there. Also the state of some of the rooms in the hostels, are beyond deplorable; with water leaking from the ceilings of rooms on the ground floor to, water seeping from the ground and flooding the rooms, to ceilings that are falling apart of their own free will. A friend there once said every morning he wakes up, he thanks God his ceiling hasn’t crushed him to death.

On the night of Tuesday May 8, between the hours of 11:45pm - 1am, there was a fire outbreak in Block 16 rooms 1 & 2 that consumed both rooms completely of all their possession. Thankfully to God, no life was lost, neither were any casualties recorded. But the alarming thing is that help did not come for nearly 20minutes! During which the students themselves tried putting off the fire but couldn’t achieve that because water wasn’t running in the hostels and the only fire extinguisher available extinguished under 10 seconds. Mind you, this fire occurred close to the transformer and the surrounding rooms. The fire was so intense, the smoke rose far above the buildings and got all the way to the front gate of the Prophet Moses Hall hostel from the back of the hostel where the fire originally started.

Only God knows where the two security men placed in charge of the hostel were at this time and also the porters who were suddenly AWOL. The hall warden was spotted running out of the hostel and watching the fire outside at a somewhat safe distance with the female hall warden. When the fire truck came, there was no sense of urgency. The students lamented the laughter on the faces of the driver of the fire truck and another fireman; also they were angered by how leisurely they went about their job of putting out the fire which was already dying out by the time the firemen arrived.

That isn’t what led me to writing this letter or report as it now seems. This is being inspired by the pain I felt when I heard of the trivial way in which lives are regarded in that space in the Redeemed Camp, now being referred to as a university. Two weeks back, on the April 26, a life was nearly lost. A 100 level student nearly lost his life due to the inadequacy of the nurses at the RUN clinic. The absence of the doctors for at least 55 minutes and the lackadaisical treatment meted out by these group of individuals who are supposed to save lives whenever and wherever the need be. The young man received a knee to the back of his head unintentionally when he courageously dived out to catch a loose ball and he passed out on the field for a few seconds. Granted the students didn’t seek medical attention for their friend immediately, because he got up and came back in to continue the match later on. He complained of a headache and blurry vision and when it was time to alight from the school bus when it got to the hostel, the students found out he had gone unconscious again.

The driver of the bus wasted five minutes before he sped to the clinic and a student was sent to call the orderlies to bring a stretcher to carry the young boy of 16 years. Of course they didn’t get any stretcher because they were not concerned and the students carried their comrade in themselves with their hands. The nurse that was first on the scene, after she was briefed on what had transpired, instructed one of the students to go and buy a bottle of lucozade boost for the young lad. Someone is that close to death and the solution is lucozade boost?!

The students asked for the doctor  and were told he was away without leave. After the nurse continuously tapped the boy and called his name for at least twenty minutes (all the while the boy was shaking & tossing vigorously from his head to his hands and feet whilst breathing very hard but was still unconscious), she realised that he might be in need of some medication and proceeded to set up a drip with the help of another nurse and some yellow-ish substance was injected into it. The doctor finally strolled in at about 7:55pm and wasn’t even headed to the ward. He was instead concerned with hailing all the agbalagbas in the waiting room as is customary of Yoruba people. It wasn’t until he saw the panicked look on the face of one of the nurses that he proceeded to the ward. It took him about five minutes before he realised there was a huge problem. A second man arrived at around 8:02pm. No one knows if he is a doctor or not, but he acted like one. By this time the young boy was at the middle of his second drip (which a pint of water, sugar & salt with the yellowish drug injected into it, making it a total of 100ml. For that situation, a drip isn’t supposed to be administered as there is already a swelling in the head, where water would have accumulated).

Instead he should have been given another drip called a Metholene or something like that. Its job is to dry out the water that has accumulated in the head. Therefore we have a charge of wrong administration of medication) if there’s anything like that in a court case) and there was a visible reduction in the frequency of his convulsion and the grunting sounds he had been making earlier. When a student present observed this and commented, the two doctors laughed it off and attributed that to the effect of the drip he was being given. Well not long after that, about 5-10minutes to be precise, the young lad stopped breathing.

See panic!

The first doctor started rubbing his fist vigorously in the center of the boy’s chest. I’m not a doctor, but from the movies and documentaries I’ve watched, I would have expected that sort of pressure to be applied on his left chest where his heart is located. Perhaps the doctor at redeemers’ university clinic was taught in school that the heart is in the middle of the chest. Perhaps. Well the foolish staff of that clinic commenced a helter-skelter search for their stretcher and proceeded to put the boy in the ambulance, with the intention of rushing him to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital. They nearly didn’t achieve this as they nearly dropped the boy two times before they reached the exit. All four of them carrying the stretcher. One of the elderly nurses was in tears around this period.

And when they finally succeeded in getting him into the ambulance, he nearly rolled over yet again. When one of the students asked where the belt used in securing patients was, lo and behold he found out the belts had been replaced with worn out ropes.  When he was secured firmly, they tried giving him oxygen. The first cylinder didn’t work, but on the second try with the second cylinder, they were able to revive him and his chest started moving again. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital. The Chief Security Officer, who is particularly fond of bullying and harassing students arrived on the scene and warned a friend of the boy not to call the boys’ parents. Unfortunately for him, the nurses had already gotten hold of the father who rushed to his son’s side that night from Ikotun, if my memory serves me right. We thank God in heaven this young man didn’t die. He woke up the next morning.

What’s the point of this write-up? The world deserves to know what goes on in these so called private universities. Covenant University is another university with loads of secrets. Do not be deceived. If proper investigations are carried out, who knows what can be achieved? We young people are made to endure a lot and when we complain to our parents, most of them ignore our tales in the belief that they are nothing but tales. I guess it is until something happens to the child of someone prominent in the society or military that these vices will be tackled.
God help us all.

From a concerned student of Redeemers University

QUICK REMEDY FOR INDIGESTION

Some nights ago, I suffered indigestion. I knew because my belch was stinking and I was very uncomfortable. I drank lots of water but no difference. Then I remembered someone told me carrots aid digestion; fortunately, there were carrots in the house so I ate two (2) pieces. Like five (5) minutes after I ate it, I felt relieved and better and no stinky breath or belch.

Belching is generally a process by which the body rids the stomach of excess air. Excess air in the stomach creates discomfort and belching offers relief. It occurs when excess air is taken into the stomach when eating or drinking too quickly, or when drinking carbonated beverages. Whilst belching is a natural phenomenon, but if it persists for long or smelly (like mine but not smelly), the problem should be taken care off well as it is uncomfortable and embarrassing in front of others.

THEY WANT TO SCAM ME!

PEOPLE! PEOPLE! PEOPLE!

I got a text message today from this U.K. phone number: +447759741130. It reads:
"U.K. NOKIA AWARD (code: 73819NK) Your mobile number has won 715,000 Pounds. email CODE, NAME,
NUMBER, COUNTRY to: nokiaoutrech@live.com for claims."

The ironic thing is, this was not sent to my Nokia phone but my Sony Ericsson. I also did NOT write anywhere that I use a Nokia phone, i did not play any game to merit this award neither did i hear of the game. I was also not called and why do they need my details? This is not the first time I will receive this kind of text message. I just wonder WHO and HOW anyone will fall for this! It is so lame. Everyone is hustling but people should look for jobs or do reasonable and legal businesses rather than scam others.
Good luck to whoever falls for this, deserves no sympathy but more wisdom!

I REMEMBER....

A nice way to start your week. Don't you sometimes wish you could be a child so you won't have responsibilities...hahahaha... you wish! Let me take you back, way back, enjoy as you sing along...

2-3 pieces for each child except the class captain and few others. Now we don't like it

On the assembly ground in the morning, this is was d march to your class song
The day is bright is bright and fair
Oh happy day, the day of joy
The day is bright is bright and fair
Oh happy day, the day of joy.
Mama "jellof" rice!

Another march to your class song:
H-i-p- for d hip
P-o-p-o for d hippopo
And t-a-m-u-s for the hip-po-po-ta-mus
Hippopotamus!

Just after you hear the lunch bell, everyone gets up and harmoniously sings:
Some have food but cannot eat;
Some can eat but have no food.
We have food and we can eat,
Glory be to thee o Lord. Ahh-men.

Oh my home! O my home!
Oh my home! O my home!
When shall i see my home?
When shall i see my native land?
I will never forget my home!

I used to get sooooo excited when singing this song. It was a relief, especially knowing no writing names of noise makers:
Holiday is coming [2x]
No more warning bells
No more teachers cane.
Goodbye teachers, goodbye scholars
I'm going 2 spend a jolly holi-day [2x]

This was the intro for PTA meetings. I remember singing this song so deeply like I was gonna get a Grammy award, when I was much younger (still young) before my voice became husky.
Parents listen to your children
We are the leaders of tomorrow
Try to pay our school fees
And give us good education

I am a little sailor boy that comes from the sea
That comes from the sea to marry you
Oh will u marry marry marry
Will you you marry me?

Closing time and time to look forward to:
Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening,
Still across the skies
Glory to the father,
Glory to the son,
And to the blessed spirit,
Whilst all ages run, Amen!

I still sing this when it’s raining and I have outdoor activities:
Rain, rain, go away
Come another ‘nother day
Little children want to play. PLAY!

A song I memorized after watching some kids in an Indian movie “Burning train” sing the song:
God whose name is love
Happy children we
Listen to the hymn that we sing to thee
Help us to be good
Always kind and true
In the game we play or the work we do.

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEK PEOPLE!

PEOPLE MAKE PEOPLE SIN

I believe that people make people sin. Some acts are sinful and unintentional and are response actions. Sometimes people act before thinking.  Just because you want instant revenge, retaliation, we SHUT our conscience and do the wrong things. Because the guy left you for another, you set him or the new girl up; just because she slapped you, you were awake all night planning a wonderful revenge that turned out to be a drastic action. While you are busy planning and fuming with anger, the fellow you are planning against is probably having fun and doesn’t know. So he/she stole from you? Are you not living and all your basic needs provided for? It is said that it is not only through our actions we commit sin but through our thoughts.

You go out and see a chic wearing a mini dress or see an endowed babe wearing a bikini and you start having lustful thoughts, it is wrong. But he couldn’t help it because he is not blind, he looked and admired and the thought crossed his mind and it became a sin. Remember this commandment: “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.” But she tempted the man, trouble came to him. It takes a lot to clear your thoughts and make it clean, but that is exactly what you need to do, CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.
Control your thoughts!

Letting hurts go is the best gift you can give yourself because it makes you burden free. Why carry so much weight in your heart, your heart is primarily to pump blood, why use it as a waste air bag? YES! Waste air bag, it is like putting air in a balloon, the more air you blow into it, the more it expands till it blows up and there is no remedy. That is where all the bitterness comes from. It is draining and saddening. It is good to breathe and let it all out. It is written in the bible, Luke 6:29, Matthew 5:39, that revenge is for GOD and you have to be patient, might not happen while you are alive but will happen somehow. BUT we know all these and really wish to retaliate, we want the now action not the later one. We want to win and have the last laugh and not feel oppressed or have bruised ego.

Just leave it and don’t listen to the saying that “REVENGE IS BEST SERVED COLD”. It’s best to LET GO.

IF A MAN WANTS YOU

IF A MAN WANTS YOU

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.
Slower is better.
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't 'be friends.' A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.
Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don't stay because you think 'it will get better.' You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant,
Why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.
Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god.
He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else's man.
Oh Lord!? If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs.
You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two-way street.
You need time to heal between relationships................there is nothing cute about baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship.
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.
Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always know where you are, and your always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.
Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.
Keep him in your radar but get to know others.
Share this with other ladies..... You'll make someone SMILE, another RETHINK her choice and another woman PREPARE.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them and an entire lifetime to forget them.

BY THE WAY, THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A MAN, SO TAKE A HINT..............

CHOLESTEROL Part 2

What causes high cholesterol?
Nutrition - although some foods contain cholesterol, such as eggs yolks, kidneys, dietary cholesterol does not have much of an impact in human blood cholesterol levels. However, saturated fats do! Foods high in saturated fats include red meat, organ meats (liver, kidney, sweetbread, and brain), liver, kidney, some pies, sausages, pastry, cakes, most biscuits, dairy products.
Sedentary lifestyle - people who do not exercise and spend most of their time sitting/lying down have significantly higher levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) and lower levels of HDL (good cholesterol).
Bodyweight - people who are overweight/obese are much more likely to have higher LDL levels and lower HDL levels, compared to people who are of normal weight.
Smoking - this can have quite a considerable effect on LDL levels.
Alcohol - People who consume too much alcohol mostly beer regularly, generally have much higher levels of LDL and much lower levels of HDL, compared to people who abstain or those who drink in moderation.
Fat content is not a good measure of cholesterol content. For example, liver and other organ meats are low in fat, but very high in cholesterol.

What are the treatments for high cholesterol?
Most people, especially those whose only risk factor has been lifestyle, can generally get their cholesterol and triglyceride levels back to normal by:
Doing plenty of exercise (check with your doctor).
Foods of plant origin (vegetables, fruits, grains, cereals, nuts, and seeds) contain no cholesterol.
Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, oats, good quality fats, nuts, beans, dark chocolate.
Avoiding foods with saturated fats.
Getting plenty of sleep (8 hours each night).
Bringing your bodyweight back to normal.
Avoiding alcohol if at all, then red wine.
Stopping smoking.
Many experts say that people who are at high risk of developing cardiovascular disease will not lower their risk just by altering their diet. Nevertheless, a healthy diet will have numerous health benefits.

High Risk Groups who need to limit or eliminate Cholesterol Consumption
Individuals with a family history of high cholesterol - Regulation of cholesterol blood levels are hereditary and it is advisable to find out if relatives have high cholesterol levels.
Older Adults - Cholesterol levels rise with age, particularly in post-menopausal women.
Over weight Individuals - Being over-weight increases risk of heart-disease and tends to correlate with high cholesterol levels.
People with Low Physical Activity Levels - Exercise is an effective way to lower bad cholesterol levels (LDLs) and raise good cholesterol levels (HDLs). People who are not physically active are at risk for high cholesterol levels.
Individuals with high blood pressure - High blood pressure in combination with high cholesterol levels greatly increases the risk of heart disease and heart attacks.
Smokers - Individuals who smoke cigarettes have a higher risk of heart disease and should avoid high cholesterol foods.

Thanks for reading. Please leave a comment.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH YOUR CHOLESTEROL LEVEL

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH YOUR CHOLESTEROL LEVEL

Cholesterol is a fat (lipid) which is produced by the liver and is crucial for normal body functioning. It is a soft, waxy substance found in all parts of the body. Your body makes some cholesterol, and some cholesterol comes from the food you eat. Cholesterol is needed for the body to function properly. But too much cholesterol can clog your arteries and lead to heart disease. There are two main types of fat – saturated and unsaturated. Eating foods that are high in saturated fat can raise cholesterol levels in the blood.

Cholesterol helps the body produce hormones (cortisol, corticosterone, aldosterone, androgens, estrogens and others), bile acid, and vitamin D. Cholesterol moves through the bloodstream to be used by all parts of the body. It also insulates nerve fibers.

The amount of cholesterol in human blood can vary from 3.6 mmol/liter to 7.8 mmol/liter.
Below is a list of cholesterol levels and how most doctors would categorize them in mg/dl (milligrams/deciliter) and 5mmol/liter (millimoles/liter).

Desirable - Less than 200 mg/dL
Bordeline high - 200 to 239 mg/dL
High - 240 mg/dL and above

  • Optimum level: less than 5mmol/liter
  • Mildly high cholesterol level: between 5 to 6.4mmol/liter
  • Moderately high cholesterol level: between 6.5 to 7.8mmol/liter
  • Very high cholesterol level: above 7.8mmol/liter

High cholesterol levels can cause:
o Atherosclerosis - narrowing of the arteries.
o Higher coronary heart disease risk - an abnormality of the arteries that supply blood and oxygen to the heart.
o Heart attack - occurs when the supply of blood and oxygen to an area of heart muscle is blocked, usually by a clot in a coronary artery. This causes your heart muscle to die.
o Angina - chest pain or discomfort that occurs when your heart muscle does not get enough blood.
o Other cardiovascular conditions - diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
o Stroke and mini-stroke - occurs when a blood clot blocks an artery or vein, interrupting the flow to an area of the brain. Can also occur when a blood vessel breaks. Brain cells begin to die.

Symptoms of high cholesterol do not exist alone in a way a patient or doctor can identify by touch or sight. Symptoms of high cholesterol are revealed if you have the symptoms of atherosclerosis, a common consequence of having high cholesterol levels. These can include:
Narrowed coronary arteries in the heart (angina).
Leg pain when exercising - this is because the arteries that supply the legs have narrowed.
Blood clots and ruptured blood vessels - these can cause a stroke or TIA (mini-stroke).
Ruptured plaques - this can lead to coronary thrombosis (a clot forming in one of the arteries that delivers blood to the heart). If this causes significant damage to heart muscle it could cause heart failure.
Xanthomas - thick yellow patches on the skin, especially around the eyes. They are, in fact, deposits of cholesterol. This is commonly seen among people who have inherited high cholesterol susceptibility (familial or inherited hypercholesterolaemia).

How is high cholesterol diagnosed?
Cholesterol levels may be measured by means of a simple blood test. It is important not to eat anything for at least 12 hours before the blood sample is taken. The blood sample can be obtained with a syringe, or just by pricking the patient's finger.
The blood sample will be tested for LDL (bad cholesterol) and HDL (good cholesterol) levels, as well as blood triglyceride levels. The units are measure in mg/dl (milligrams/deciliter) or 5mmol/liter (millimoles/liter).

People who have risk factors should consider having their cholesterol levels checked. Men have a greater chance of having high blood cholesterol levels than women.

Causes and remedies to be continued. GO and check your cholesterol level, it is so important. IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO KNOW. Yes i have done mine, glad i did.

LIFE AS WE KNOW IT

WHAT CAN YOU EXACTLY SAY ABOUT LIFE?
It serves you love for breakfast(young and dependent)
Trash for lunch(adult and independent) and
For dinner(aged), gives you pain.
Life can be incredible and painful at the same time; a bumpy road,
Hope and Motivation is what keeps you going,
Depression is what kills you faster,
Love is what makes you happy especially when it is reciprocated,
Almighty God keeps you alive cause HE uplifts your Mind and Soul that is if you let HIM.
Nothing is easy and nothing is also difficult,
Remember being blessed by Almighty God is better than being lucky.
PEACE!

THE DAY I SAW THE SUN by EKENE UMEIKE

The Day I Saw the Sun

For a long time I have wondered how any human being could take time to watch the sun. Rising or setting it has never made a difference. What’s the big deal? After all it’s always there, usually managing to cause me great discomfort. But … but today I saw the sun.

I was walking casually back from lectures when suddenly I looked up and there it was – the sun. Probably for the first time I could see its beauty and magnificence radiating majestically. As if spellbound and probably looking a little crazy, I walked with my eyes fixed, gazing upwards at the rather robust and orange looking sun as it disappeared into the horizon to make way for the moon.

My only regret was that I did not have a camera to record what I had seen. Then, I remembered and smiled because I realized that the sun would most definitely return the next day.

It is sad, that though the everyday of my life the sun had been there, I had never actually seen it until now. For each day that I have left, I will make the effort to appreciate the beauty not only of the sun, but even the weeds, water, sand and all the little things around that are always taken for granted.

BOKO HARAM!

BOKO HARAM!

Everyone is condemning their recent attack calling it barbaric and animalistic, to mention a few. Yesterday President GEJ, Senate President David Mark and others told us (public) how disheartened they are by the act. They fail to realize that Boko Haram is the “robot” they created that turned against human race.

This deceit should be STOPPED by our leaders. Canada and other countries are against this act and want those responsible found and brought to justice, we have heard this storyline before as they will never be found. They know who is behind this rebellious sect and can take proper actions against them but won’t. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was said to have visited their (boko haram) headquarters, where they said they could have killed him if they wanted to, they have a base and some government officials know where it is.

The act is truly sad but it is a lesson that we shouldn’t depend on our government for security. For some years now, multinational oil and gas companies have bomb detectors to check every vehicle at point of entry. The first “letter bomb” in Nigeria was delivered to a journalist, meaning media houses should ensure the safety of their staff is of paramount importance as the job is very risky.

At the just concluded SOUTH SOUTH SUMMIT, we need not ask how well secured the venue was because we are all aware the government usually safeguards themselves and foreigners than its citizens. Recently, the first lady, Mrs Dame Patience Jonathan, visited Lagos, for security measures, they used armored vans to block the roads. There was no movement for hours; I particularly pitied those who were heading to hospitals and seriously in need of medical attention. Does our government even think in this regard?

When can we finally trust our government?

THE FAMOUS QUESTION: WHEN IS YOUR WEDDING?

I was chatting with an old school mate of mine recently, told her my brother is married and the FAMOUS QUESTION was asked; “WHEN IS YOURS?”

This is a question asked after graduating from the University by anyone and anywhere. When some family friends come to the house they ask the same question and when you tell them you don’t know, they won’t even ask if you are dating anyone, the next thing you know they start praying for you. Oh YES! PRAYERS. “Ti e na ma de”, “a maa se ti e o!” (Yours will come, we will do yours). Then they also start preaching “You know you are not getting younger…..” They forget that no one can marry oneself. I am also guilty of this as I have asked friends; it is funny because am also not married.

I wonder why they don’t ask “Are you happy?”, “What are your future plans?” or “How is life with you?” I don’t know why we do it but I know it has to stop. SERIOUSLY. If one is getting married, its joyful news so it will be announced, so no need asking. The question is like a constant reminder that marriage is a necessity and takes place just right after graduation from the university (especially for ladies).

I guess this is one reason a lot of ladies are desperately getting married just after University. There is no reward given for getting married at any age. Some ladies marry before knowing the man and some have not helped themselves to be independent so they depend on the men a lot, he is their backbone.

Marriage is an institution; you need to be prepared before you enter it. It is a LIFETIME INSTITUTION, there is NO graduation only matriculation which is the wedding ceremony. Do not feel pressured or try to pressure anyone to get married. Everyone has different destiny and not everyone’s is to get married. Have an impact in the lives around you and make the most out of life. Live to the fullest and try to be as independent as much as you can be. Marry for the right reasons not the wrong ones.

Please and please, if you are among those that ask the famous question, endeavor to STOP. It is really not a nice question and it is EMBARASSING!
